1. Overview & Privacy Commitment

This Privacy Policy governs the app Internet Speed Meter (com.pp.InternetSpeedMeter), developed by Prabhakar Panda ("we", "our", or "us"). We are dedicated to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding the collection, storage, and processing of information when you use the Internet Speed Meter Android application.

🔒 Zero Data Transmission Policy: Internet Speed Meter processes 100% of network telemetry and data usage statistics locally on your device. We do NOT collect, transmit, upload, sell, or share your personal data, network traffic, or browsing history to any external servers.

2. Information Collection & Processing

Internet Speed Meter requires access to system network statistics to calculate real-time connection speeds and log daily data usage. All collected metrics remain strictly on your local device storage:

Network Bandwidth & Speed Metrics: Real-time download and upload byte transfer counts captured directly via standard Android system APIs (TrafficStats and NetworkStatsManager).
Data Usage History: Daily cellular and Wi-Fi consumption totals stored in your device's internal SQLite database.
Quota & Threshold Settings: Data limit preferences configured by you within the app.

3. Android System Permissions

Internet Speed Meter requests only essential system permissions required for core network monitoring and continuous foreground service operations:

INTERNET & ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: Used to inspect active network connection status (Wi-Fi vs. Cellular) and query bandwidth statistics.
FOREGROUND_SERVICE & FOREGROUND_SERVICE_SPECIAL_USE: Required to maintain an ongoing status bar notification displaying live download/upload speeds.
POST_NOTIFICATIONS: Required on Android 13+ to display the status bar speed meter and trigger user-configured data limit threshold alerts.
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED & QUICKBOOT_POWERON: Allows Internet Speed Meter to automatically resume network monitoring after your device restarts.
REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS: Optional permission requested to prevent system battery optimization from killing background monitoring tasks.

4. Third-Party Services & Analytics

Internet Speed Meter contains no third-party SDKs, no advertising frameworks, and no telemetry analytics trackers. We do not use Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, or any external crash reporting tools that collect user data.

5. Data Security & Storage Duration

All data generated by Internet Speed Meter resides in your device's private app storage sandbox. Data is retained until you explicitly clear the application data via system settings or uninstall the application. Uninstalling Internet Speed Meter immediately and permanently deletes all recorded historical logs.

6. Children's Privacy

Internet Speed Meter does not address anyone under the age of 13. Since we do not collect any personal data from any user, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. You are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. Any updates to this policy will be posted directly on this page.
